Aichi Nagoya Asian Games 2026

The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya are the next big event following the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, offering an opportunity to further deepen growing exchange within Asia. Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City will welcome visitors with hospitality that showcases our history as the home to many warlords in the Sengoku period, a rich local food culture known as “Nagoya meshi” (), and our passionate sports spirit.

From September 19 to October 4, the heart of Japan will pulsate with the energy of athletes from across Asia. From the precision of martial arts to the speed of track and field, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will be a spectacular celebration of athleticism, culture, and unity.

Organizers hope that the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games will enable people to “IMAGINE ONE ASIA through the power of sports.” The Aichi-Nagoya Organizing Committee is currently planning to hold a series of events in four phases to mark the one-year countdown to the Asian Games. The events include demonstrations of sports such as BMX freestyle, 3×3 basketball and archery, along with talk sessions with entertainers and athletes including Miharu Ozawa and Kaito Oda.

The Aichi-Nagoya Games will feature 32 sports and disciplines from the summer Olympics plus 11 additional sports and disciplines from the Asian Games Council. All 45 National Olympic Committees which are members of the Asian Games Council are expected to send delegations, and there will be a total of 46 nations and territories participating in the Games.
