The Masters leaderboard is a crucial part of every tournament at Augusta but it takes on added importance when there’s the chance that one golfer will walk away with the prestigious green jacket. With the final round kicking off at 3pm, here’s all you need to know about the top contenders for the famous prize.
Rory McIlroy jumped up to No 1 on the Masters leaderboard after a solid third round at Augusta and he looks set to become only the sixth player in history to complete the career Grand Slam. McIlroy climbed two shots back of Justin Rose and one behind Bryson DeChambeau.
Bryson DeChambeau continues to impress in his quest for a first Masters victory and he remains the man to beat as he holds down second place after round three. The US Open winner didn’t blow up his score on Saturday but he was unlucky not to make more birdies and has an excellent putter.
Justin Rose bogeys the 12th and drops to six under but he makes up for it with a fine approach into the 18th that results in a birdie. Rose fought back from a rough start on Friday and is now tied with McIlroy at 11 under.
Corey Conners is also at six under after a round that included seven birdies and only four bogeys. The American will play with DeChambeau and Ludvig Aberg on Sunday and a good finish could see him challenge for the title.
