World Series Highlights – Freddie Freeman’s Walk-Off Homer

TORONTO – The 2025 World Series has delivered a dazzling array of moments, from the Dodgers’ record-setting offense to the best infield defense in a long time. But there has been one particular moment that has stood out for many: Freddie Freeman’s walk-off homer to win Game Seven in extra innings on Saturday.

It was a moment that had all the markings of a classic. The slugger had a shin-guard on and leaned over in the batter’s box to deliver his line drive. It bounced off the pitcher’s mound and into the stands to give the Dodgers a 5-4 lead in the 11th inning, overcoming a 3-0 deficit and becoming only the second team in MLB history to overcome a 3-0 series deficit.

The scene was electric, and it was a fitting finale to a World Series that began with the Dodgers on the outside looking in, then won by beating a team that had certain destiny riding shotgun. From there, Los Angeles became the first repeat champion in 25 years.

World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto was the key reason for that. The Japanese right-hander had thrown no complete games stateside until this postseason, but he made his mark in the biggest way. He escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and then worked around a Vladimir Guerrero double by getting Bo Bichette to pop out and Daulton Varsho to ground out, stranding both runners and securing a 4-3 victory.
